Junior School Teacher

  • Two full-time replacement opportunities in our Junior School
  • Commence Term 3 Week 6 through to end of Term 4 2024 
  • Opportunities in Year 4 or Year 5

About the role

To cover maternity leave, Mercedes College is seeking applications from teachers interested in a temporary replacement opportunity with either a Year 4 or Year 5 class, commencing Monday 26 August (Term 3, Week 6) and ending Friday 6 December 2024 (Term 4, Week 8).

A thorough handover with the existing incumbents will be provided throughout Term 3, week 6.

About you

  • You are highly competent and committed to establishing and maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students can flourish in all aspects of their humanity. 
  • You develop strong and positive working relationships with your students and establish highly engaging learning environments in and out of the classroom.
  • You thrive on understanding and building strong relationships of educational trust with your students. You know the curriculum well and how to teach it in the early/primary years setting. 
  • You thrive on working collaboratively with your colleagues (Teacher and ESO), families, and the wider education community.
  • You facilitate student learning and actively engage in your own continuous professional and personal learning and formation.
  • Knowledge of the IB programmes will be an advantage, yet is not essential.
